Xsports builds football rights push with Saudi Pro League deal
Xsports has added the Saudi Pro League to its growing football rights portfolio in Brazil, securing a three-season agreement that will deliver two live matches from every round until 2029.
Xsports has secured Brazilian broadcast rights to the Saudi Pro League until 2029, adding another international football property to a rapidly expanding content portfolio. The agreement covers the 2026-27, 2027-28 and 2028-29 seasons, with Xsports set to show two live matches from each round of the 18-team competition. The new Saudi Pro League season begins on August 13.The deal gives the Saudi Pro League additional distribution in one of football’s largest media markets while strengthening Xsports’ effort to establish itself as a destination for domestic and international rights in Brazil.Xsports already carries properties including the Bundesliga and Brazil’s Série B, while it recently added a Ligue 1 package covering three matches per round from the 2026-27 season. That expanding schedule gives the broadcaster a broader year-round football proposition as it competes for viewers against established Brazilian television groups and digital platforms. The Saudi agreement also extends the league’s international distribution strategy as it continues to use media partnerships to build audiences outside the Middle East. The league’s 2026-27 campaign will feature 306 matches across 34 rounds, with 18 clubs competing between August 13 and May 29.Xsports’ acquisition means Brazilian viewers will now have regular access to selected Saudi Pro League fixtures alongside the broadcaster’s increasing mix of Brazilian and European football. The deal runs until the end of the 2028-29 season, giving Xsports a multi-year property around which it can build scheduling, advertising and wider commercial partnerships.
