brief

Wrexham have agreed a multi-year front-of-shirt partnership with Firefox, adding another global brand to the club’s sponsorship portfolio as they prepare for the 2026/27 Championship season. The agreement will see Firefox replace United Airlines on the front of Wrexham’s men’s and women’s home, away and third shirts from the start of the new campaign.Wrexham co-chairmen Rob Mac and Ryan Reynolds said: “We are thrilled to welcome Firefox as our new front-of-kit partner.“We love an underdog story, and both Wrexham and Firefox know the feeling of having to battle giants.”Firefox, the independent browser owned by Mozilla, will also become Wrexham’s official web browser partner. The deal gives Mozilla access to one of the most visible challenger brands in English football, with Wrexham’s global profile driven by their Hollywood ownership, on-pitch rise and the Welcome to Wrexham documentary.Firefox will debut on the club’s kit this weekend when Phil Parkinson’s side wear their new away shirt in a friendly against Wisla Krakow in Poland.John Solomon, chief marketing officer at Mozilla, said: “Partnering with Wrexham is a natural fit.”The agreement continues Wrexham’s run of major sponsorship deals under Mac and Reynolds, following partnerships with brands including TikTok, Expedia, Meta, United Airlines, HP and SToK Cold Brew Coffee.Firefox becomes the latest global company to use Wrexham as a sports marketing platform despite the club still operating below the Premier League. That commercial appeal has been central to Wrexham’s rapid rise from the National League to the Championship, where higher operating costs and new financial rules increase the value of sponsorship income.Wrexham generated £33.35m in total revenue during the 2024/25 League One season, with sponsorship income accounting for £17.3m.That figure was up from £13.1m the previous year and compares with around £1.05m in sponsorship and commercial revenue during the first full year of the Mac and Reynolds ownership. The Firefox deal is expected to reflect both Wrexham’s Championship status and the club’s continuing international reach.Wrexham finished seventh in the Championship last season, their highest league position, after winning three consecutive promotions. The club’s commercial growth has also been supported by a major expansion in merchandise demand.Wrexham sold around 24,000 shirts during their 2022/23 National League title-winning season, compared with a combined 2,750 home and away shirts before the takeover in 2020/21.By 2024/25, the club had ordered around 100,000 shirts after agreeing a wider global merchandising arrangement with Macron. That distribution network has allowed Wrexham kits to be stocked in overseas retail outlets, including in the United States and Australia, while the club also opened a flagship store in Wrexham. The new home shirt featuring Firefox branding is expected to be released during the club’s US tour.Wrexham will face Leeds United in Tampa, Liverpool in New York and Sunderland in Philadelphia after travelling to the United States on July 22.The Firefox agreement follows the announcement of Nex Playground as Wrexham’s new sleeve sponsor, replacing HP.The interactive motion-based gaming platform will appear on the club’s sleeves from the new season as part of another global consumer-facing partnership.Wrexham are also expected to announce a new back-of-shirt sponsor before the start of the campaign. The club’s historic home will revert to The Racecourse Ground following the expiry of a three-year naming rights agreement with SToK Cold Brew Coffee. The new sponsorship cycle comes as Championship clubs adjust to the division’s squad cost ratio rules. From 2026/27, clubs will be restricted to spending a maximum of 85% of total income, with an additional equity top-up allowance available over a three-year period. That makes commercial growth particularly important for Wrexham as they seek to remain competitive while complying with the new financial framework. The Firefox partnership gives the club another front-of-shirt asset with global reach, while Mozilla gains a high-profile football platform built around Wrexham’s underdog identity and international audience.
