brief

Villarreal CF have signed a multi-season partnership with SPORTFIVE covering the production and commercialisation of LED and virtual advertising across their home matches. The agency will exclusively manage inventory for Villarreal’s LaLiga and Copa del Rey fixtures, giving the club a centralised sales and technology platform for domestic and international brand partners.Villarreal commercial director Juan Antón de Salas said: “Partnering with SPORTFIVE allows us to further enhance our commercial strategy and unlock the full value of our media and advertising assets.“Their global reach, market expertise, and innovative approach to virtual and LED advertising will enable us to attract new partners, grow internationally and deliver greater value across our sponsorship ecosystem.”SPORTFIVE will oversee the full advertising operation, including sales execution, strategic planning, pricing, packaging and implementation. The agreement is intended to improve Villarreal’s ability to sell different advertising inventory across individual broadcast markets rather than displaying the same pitchside branding globally.Virtual advertising technology allows rights holders to replace physical LED content within selected television feeds, creating market-specific campaigns for brands targeting particular countries or regions. That model can increase the volume and value of available inventory by enabling multiple advertisers to occupy the same physical advertising position across different broadcasts.SPORTFIVE will use its international sales network to target commercial opportunities across Europe, the Americas and Asia while retaining visibility for Villarreal’s existing domestic partners. The agency will also provide demand forecasting, campaign monitoring and reporting across broadcast feeds, giving Villarreal greater oversight of how inventory is distributed and valued.SPORTFIVE managing director for sales Sergi Vieta said: “This partnership with Villarreal CF is a strong addition to our international portfolio and reflects our focus on driving sustainable commercial growth for rights holders.“By combining our global sales capabilities, data-driven pricing and advanced virtual and LED solutions, we are well positioned to maximise the value of the club’s inventory and deliver high-quality, targeted opportunities for brand partners worldwide.”The agreement strengthens SPORTFIVE’s position in Spanish football and expands its portfolio of clubs using virtual advertising to internationalise sponsorship assets.Villarreal gain access to a wider pool of prospective advertisers without reducing the exposure available to regional and national partners inside Spain. The partnership will initially focus on optimising Villarreal’s existing stadium advertising inventory, with SPORTFIVE responsible for integrating the sales, production and technology functions across eligible home fixtures.
