Verona put community at heart of new stadium push
Hellas Verona are launching a structured consultation on plans for a new stadium at the site of the Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi, bringing supporters, commercial partners and local stakeholders into the design process as the club push ahead with a major infrastructure project.
Hellas Verona are preparing to launch a consultation on their proposed new stadium, seeking input from supporters and other stakeholders as plans advance for a replacement of the Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi.The process will involve season-ticket holders, other fans, commercial partners and representatives from local communities and neighbourhoods, with feedback intended to inform development of the final design.The club said: “With this survey, the club promotes a transparent process of listening and active participation, so that community contributions can enrich and guide the development of the final project.“Hellas Verona thanks in advance anyone who takes a few minutes to complete the survey, making a valuable contribution to the future of the stadium and the city.”The consultation follows the appointment of architecture firm Gensler in May to design a new venue on the site currently occupied by the Bentegodi.Gensler are working alongside Sportium and engineering group Arup, with Colliers acting as project manager.Verona submitted a feasibility study to the municipality in November through HV1903, the club’s wholly owned subsidiary established to explore development opportunities around the project.The stadium represents one of the most significant strategic projects since US private equity firm Presidio Investors acquired Hellas Verona from Maurizio Setti in January 2025.A modern venue would give the club greater scope to develop hospitality, sponsorship, premium seating and other matchday revenues while creating a facility capable of generating activity beyond Serie A fixtures.The project also carries wider significance for the city after Verona was named among 13 Italian candidates seeking to stage matches at UEFA Euro 2032. Only five Italian venues will ultimately be selected for the tournament, which Italy is co-hosting with Türkiye.That process adds another infrastructure incentive around Verona’s stadium ambitions, although the club’s development will require continued cooperation with municipal and national authorities as it progresses.The consultation now provides Hellas Verona with an opportunity to incorporate supporter and commercial requirements before the design is finalised, bringing the project another step closer to the formal approval stages.
