brief

The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) has appointed Golden by Corgi as its official insurance and protection partner under a three-year agreement covering its national network of clubs and participants.Effective from September 30, the partnership provides coverage for the league, more than 900 member clubs and approximately 37,000 registered players, coaches and officials taking part in sanctioned competitions.Mike T. Brown, executive partner at Golden by Corgi, said: “UPSL is one of the largest club soccer platforms in the country, and it deserves a program built for how it actually operates. As a full-stack carrier, we do better when the sport stays safe, so we are with UPSL and its clubs all year, not just at renewal.”Golden is the sports and entertainment insurance business backed by Corgi, combining the issuing, administration and servicing of policies for governing bodies, leagues, teams and events. The agreement brings those functions together for the UPSL, with a dedicated online portal through which clubs can check coverage information, request insurance certificates and report incidents.Alongside providing insurance, the programme is intended to reduce the administrative work involved in managing documentation and handling claims throughout the season. The UPSL operates men’s, women’s and youth divisions across the United States, with its extensive membership requiring insurance arrangements that support both league operations and activities at individual clubs.Providing a shared system gives club administrators a consistent route for accessing documents and reporting incidents, while connecting those processes with the organisation responsible for servicing their coverage.Member clubs will also receive access to the Golden Standard, a resource hub offering safety and risk management guidance intended to help organisations maintain safer playing environments. That element extends the partnership beyond arranging policies and responding to claims, giving clubs information they can use in their day-to-day operations.Brown’s comments place an emphasis on maintaining contact with clubs during the year, rather than limiting the relationship to the point at which their insurance is renewed. The UPSL agreement is the latest in a series of national league and governing body partnerships established by Golden during 2026, as Corgi expands its insurance business across different industries.Corgi describes itself as an AI-native insurance carrier and financial infrastructure company, while Golden provides its dedicated programme for sports and entertainment organisations. For the UPSL, the three-year arrangement establishes a league-wide insurance and administration framework spanning its clubs, registered participants and sanctioned competitions.
