Toyota Stadium district aims to turn matchday site into year-round destination
Hunt Sports Development plans a hotel and events district beside FC Dallas’ Toyota Stadium to bring business to the site throughout the year.
Hunt Sports Development has partnered with Peak Curated Development and VENU to build a mixed-use district east of Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas. The project would add hotel, conference, dining and entertainment facilities beside the home of FC Dallas, expanding the site’s commercial use beyond matchdays.FC Dallas president Dan Hunt said: “Toyota Stadium has long served as the anchor for this campus. Adding hospitality, dining and live entertainment will build on that foundation and continue to make this one of North Texas’ most active year-round destinations.”The first phase includes an approximately 290-room boutique hotel and more than 40,000 square feet of convention, meeting and event space. Construction is expected to begin in 2027, although the partners have not disclosed the project’s cost or financial terms. The hotel plans include a restaurant and bar, rooftop lounge, spa and fitness centre. More than 25,000 square feet of the adjoining convention centre would be dedicated to meetings, including a ballroom that could be divided into smaller rooms. The ballroom could also operate as a music hall with capacity for 3,000 people. The partners intend to use the space for conferences and entertainment events throughout the year, creating activity on days without football. The eastern district would complement an office complex announced last year for the western side of Toyota Stadium. That development is planned to provide more than one million square feet of office space, adding a potential source of weekday demand for the hotel, restaurants and meeting facilities.Toyota Stadium is undergoing a separate US$215m renovation, scheduled for completion in spring 2028. Work on the hotel and events district is expected to start in 2027.
