THE·TEAM takes significant stake in GG11
THE·TEAM has acquired a significant stake in Italian football representation firm GG11 as it continues to consolidate talent services across Europe.
Global sports, music and entertainment company THE·TEAM has acquired a significant ownership interest in GG11, an Italian football talent representation business, as it accelerates its push to build a multi-market agent platform. The deal links GG11 into THE·TEAM’s Global Football group, extending the company’s European footprint and strengthening its ability to service players and coaches across multiple leagues through one network.GG11 co-founder Gabriele Giuffrida said: “We’re incredibly proud that THE·TEAM has chosen to invest in us, which is a true recognition of what we’ve built and how it’s valued internationally. This partnership is a pivotal moment, allowing us to expand our offering globally and open up new opportunities for our players and clubs.”THE·TEAM is positioning the move as part of a broader growth strategy that combines acquisitions with cross-border client servicing, using scale to compete with the largest agencies in football.GG11 co-founder Valerio Giuffrida said: “This marks the natural next step in the evolution from a family-owned business to a truly global organisation. Football has been transformed by globalisation, and international scale is now essential to access the market’s full potential.”GG11’s roster includes players and coaches such as Guglielmo Vicario, Radu Drăgușin, Hamed Traorè, Maduka Okoye, Cher Ndour, Cristian Volpato, Albert Gudmundsson, Stefano Pioli and Davide Nicola, giving THE·TEAM additional reach across elite European leagues and technical leadership roles.THE·TEAM said the clients will now sit alongside its existing football portfolio, which includes players and coaches such as Federico Valverde, Ilya Zabarnyi, Manuel Akanji, John Stones, Malo Gusto, Teun Koopmeiners and Ronald Koeman. The strategic logic is to offer a broader service set than contract negotiation alone, combining career management, commercial opportunities and global market access through a single platform.THE·TEAM’s leadership has previously signalled that its football build-out will be driven by targeted deals in key territories, enabling it to add established local relationships while standardising back-office capabilities. The addition of GG11 follows THE·TEAM’s prior European moves including acquisitions of People in Sport’s football division in Denmark, International Football Management in Switzerland and SportPlus in Belgium. This consolidation trend is reshaping football representation, with larger groups seeking to deliver more predictable revenue, diversify into coaching and executive representation, and create new commercial value through content, brand and partnership support.THE·TEAM operates across sport, music and entertainment, and has positioned its wider talent ecosystem as a differentiator in a market where footballers increasingly want access to cultural opportunities beyond the pitch. The immediate focus will be integrating client servicing and expanding GG11’s international deal flow, while maintaining the boutique relationships that have historically driven recruitment and retention in football representation.
