Tepper Sports & Entertainment has released new renderings of Bank of America Stadium as it expands the renovation into a project worth more than US$1.3bn.The overhaul will modernise the home of the NFL’s Carolina Panthers and MLS side Charlotte FC, while repositioning the surrounding Mint Street corridor as a year-round sports and entertainment destination.TSE owner and chairman David Tepper said: “Our goal is to create experiences that enhance the passion and energy of the region while transforming this corridor into a weekend destination for world-class sports, entertainment and community events.”The latest designs include expanded indoor-outdoor gathering areas, upgraded materials and an illuminated crown intended to create a more distinctive presence on the Charlotte skyline.Larger video boards, improved audio, new seating and enhanced connectivity will be introduced throughout the venue.Premium areas will range from upgraded club seats to ultra-luxury hospitality, increasing the stadium’s ability to generate higher-value income from Panthers and Charlotte FC matches.Retail and food-and-beverage options will be expanded, while additional restrooms and flexible event spaces are intended to improve circulation and support corporate and community use outside matchdays. The project also includes a planned 4,400-capacity entertainment venue capable of staging between 80 and 100 events annually. That facility will provide additional hospitality during NFL games while allowing the stadium campus to host concerts, private functions and other live events throughout the year. The City of Charlotte’s contribution remains fixed at US$650m. TSE will fund the remaining investment, including additional design elements, owner-selected upgrades and any project cost overruns.Bank of America has also agreed a long-term extension of its stadium naming-rights partnership, preserving one of the venue’s central commercial relationships during the redevelopment.Construction is being phased to allow Panthers and Charlotte FC fixtures to continue throughout the work.Interior construction is already under way, with the first fan-facing improvements expected in 2027 and completion scheduled for 2030.TSE has also opened a priority deposit programme for future season tickets, providing an early sales pipeline for the renovated venue while existing personal seat licence holders retain first access.
