Spectrum expands LA sports portfolio with Angel City FC deal
Spectrum has become a Founding Level Sponsor of Angel City FC in a multi-year agreement that adds the NWSL club to its Los Angeles sports portfolio and gives the telecommunications group extensive matchday and digital inventory.
Angel City FC have signed Spectrum as a Founding Level Sponsor in a multi-year partnership that will combine significant commercial inventory with community programming across greater Los Angeles.Spectrum will become the club’s Official Residential Internet and WiFi Services Partner, as well as a Mobile Cellular Services and Distributed Live TV Provider Partner. Financial terms were not disclosed.Spectrum executive vice-president and chief marketing officer Sharon Peters said: “Supporting youth access to sports and soccer in Los Angeles helps increase opportunities for young athletes and supports local communities.”“Our sponsorship with Angel City FC allows more young people to participate in sports and build relationships with families and neighborhoods throughout Southern California.”The deal gives Spectrum a broad presence across Angel City’s home matches at BMO Stadium, including LED signage, videoboard advertising, IPTV inventory and branded match features.The company will also sponsor Angel City’s “Players to Watch” content, the club’s “How to Watch & Listen” digital page and its “Save of the Match” feature, extending the partnership across both physical and digital touchpoints.Spectrum will activate at pre-match Fan Fest events and in-stadium Sol Rosa Rally programming, giving the brand additional direct engagement opportunities with supporters.The agreement also extends Spectrum’s position across the Los Angeles sports market. The company already works with properties including LA Galaxy, Crypto.com Arena and the Los Angeles Dodgers, with Angel City becoming its first women’s football sponsorship.That addition gives Spectrum exposure to a different audience segment while broadening the company’s sports marketing footprint across one of the largest media and consumer markets in the US.Angel City vice-president of community Chris Fajardo said: “Increasing access for youth to play across Los Angeles, especially those in under resourced communities, has been a priority for ACFC since our inception, and we are excited to have Spectrum join these efforts.”The partnership includes two Spectrum-presented Angel City youth clinics each year, with participants receiving coaching through the club’s Coach Network alongside co-branded merchandise.The first clinic was held at Peach Hill Park in Moorpark on August 1, with a second planned at the West Valley Family YMCA.The commercial structure gives Spectrum a mix of category exclusivity, content ownership, stadium visibility and community activation, while Angel City add another major corporate partner to a sponsorship model built around both brand exposure and local impact.
