Queens Park Rangers are taking an unconventional approach to sponsorship sales by advertising naming rights for stands at Loftus Road on LinkedIn, offering brands matchday visibility, hospitality and integration across the Championship club’s stadium.

brief

Queens Park Rangers are using LinkedIn to market naming rights for stands at Loftus Road, taking a direct-to-business approach to generating new sponsorship revenue from their stadium inventory. The Championship club are offering prospective partners the opportunity to attach their corporate name to a stand alongside branding across concourses, hospitality areas and other agreed assets.QPR said: “What if your company name wasn’t simply displayed at a football stadium, but became part of the stadium itself?“This is more than traditional stadium advertising. Your company. Your stand. Your signage is visible.”The package would also include hospitality inventory, allowing partners to host clients, employees and other guests while building a more permanent presence within the club’s matchday environment.QPR said: “From ingress, egress areas, concourses to hospitality areas and other agreed stadium assets, your company will become a recognisable part of the QPR matchday.”Loftus Road currently has four named stands, although only one carries a conventional commercial association. Away supporters are housed in the Achilleus Security Stand. The other areas include the Stanley Bowles Stand, named after the former QPR player, the Bhatia Stand and the Loftus Road Stand.Using LinkedIn to openly solicit potential naming-rights partners represents a departure from the traditional model of relying primarily on sponsorship agencies, existing commercial relationships and private sales processes. It also demonstrates the pressure on Championship clubs to maximise available commercial inventory as they compete in a league with substantial financial disparities between clubs, particularly those receiving parachute payments following relegation from the Premier League.Stand naming rights provide QPR with a way to monetise the stadium without replacing the wider Loftus Road identity, potentially making the proposition more acceptable to supporters than a full venue naming-rights agreement. The initiative also gives potential partners a visible foothold in the London sports market, with QPR positioning the opportunity around repeated matchday exposure and corporate hospitality rather than signage alone.QPR’s public LinkedIn approach now effectively turns the sponsorship search itself into a piece of business-to-business marketing, widening the pool of potential partners beyond the club’s existing commercial network.
