Premier League to launch Premier League Plus in Singapore with new pass pricing

The Premier League will launch its first direct-to-consumer product in Singapore on August 5, offering match access passes that sit alongside StarHub’s existing distribution.

brief

The Premier League is moving direct to fans in Singapore with the launch of Premier League Plus, a new streaming service that will offer flexible passes and additional viewing features from the 2026–27 season. The product is being rolled out with StarHub, the league’s long-term broadcast partner in the market, with StarHub customers continuing to receive live Premier League and FA Cup coverage through their existing subscriptions.Premier League Plus will offer three purchase options: a 24-hour pass at S$16, a monthly pass at S$44 and an annual pass at S$399.The 24-hour pass will be available on mobile and laptop devices only and provides access to live and on-demand content for 24 hours from purchase, while the monthly pass will run on a rolling basis with cancellation at any time. The Premier League’s chief media officer Paul Molnar said: “This is the first time the Premier League has launched a direct-to-fans streaming service anywhere in the world, and we are excited to provide supporters in Singapore with additional choice and new ways to experience the best league in the world.“Premier League Plus will give fans more flexibility in how they watch, with enhanced features that bring them closer to the action, while complementing the outstanding service already provided by our valued long-term partner StarHub.”Beyond match access, the service is being positioned as a richer product layer, with multi-camera viewing options, real-time data overlays and personalised team hubs. The offering will also include bespoke highlights and full match replays, plus a 24/7 channel produced by Premier League Studios, with streaming available in up to 4K where supported.StarHub’s current Premier+ pack is priced at S$40.74 per month, with existing StarHub customers paying S$25.46 per month, putting the new passes into a market already accustomed to premium football pricing. The strategic significance sits less in the Singapore market size and more in the test case for a league that has historically prioritised wholesale rights sales to broadcasters and pay TV operators.A direct product gives the Premier League clearer visibility on customer behaviour and churn, plus the ability to package its own features, data and merchandising pathways without relying entirely on third-party platforms. The model also provides a live experiment in how a league can add consumer choice without breaking a long-standing distribution partnership, with StarHub continuing as the core local operator while integrating the new service within its platform.Premier League Plus subscriptions will open on August 5, ahead of the 2026–27 season kick-off later that month.
