Orange turns Lyon partnership into digital safety platform

Orange has extended its official partnership with OL Lyonnes, increasing its stadium presence and expanding community programmes around women’s football, digital education and cyberbullying.The renewed agreement continues a relationship launched in December 2024 and was facilitated by Sportfive. Orange will receive greater visibility at Groupama Stadium and a wider activation platform across the club’s professional and grassroots networks.Orange France consumer director Laetitia Orsini-Sharps said: “This renewal reflects the strength of our partnership with OL Lyonnes and our shared commitment to making women’s football a platform for performance, visibility and positive social impact.“Through concrete initiatives both on and off the pitch, we aim to continue supporting players, grassroots clubs and future generations.”The Orange Football Challenge will be expanded from two activations under the previous agreement to 11 during the new season.The programme will take place at half-time during Arkema Première Ligue matches at Groupama Stadium, giving Orange a more regular position within the live matchday experience.The increased frequency provides the company with greater exposure while creating participation opportunities for young players connected to OL Lyonnes and their partner clubs.Orange will also deliver three webinars for coaches and educators focused on responsible digital behaviour and online best practice.The sessions will support the OL Lyonnes amateur football network and OL Academy, extending the partnership beyond branding and consumer promotion.Dedicated tournaments will also be organised for partner clubs, combining football activity with education around cyberbullying and digital safety.Participants will be invited to attend OL Lyonnes matches, connecting grassroots players with the professional game and strengthening the pathway between local clubs and the elite team.OL Lyonnes general manager Vincent Ponsot said: “This collaboration comes to life through concrete initiatives, from the Orange Football Challenge and our grassroots club programmes to awareness campaigns promoting responsible digital use and combating cyberbullying.“Together, we aim to create even more opportunities for young female players, enhance the visibility of women’s football and contribute to its sustainable development.”The agreement reflects a broader shift in women’s football sponsorship, with brands increasingly seeking measurable social and community programmes alongside media exposure.Orange gains a platform linking digital responsibility with participation and inclusion, while OL Lyonnes secure a long-term partner prepared to invest across matchdays, academies and grassroots football.The expanded programme will begin during the 2026-27 season, with Orange’s 11 in-stadium activations becoming the most visible element of the renewed relationship.
