NordVPN joins Villa with digital security push

Aston Villa have agreed a partnership with NordVPN that will make the cybersecurity company their official digital security partner, with the agreement focused on protecting supporters accessing online services around Villa Park.NordVPN will use the partnership to raise awareness of the risks associated with unsecured networks while promoting its virtual private network and antivirus products to Villa’s supporter base.An Aston Villa spokesperson said: “In the modern age, where internet usage is such a cornerstone of everyday life, online security is paramount and this exciting partnership allows our supporters to engage with the club and with each other on matchdays in a fast and protected environment.“As we continue our growth off the pitch, a secure digital platform in which to not only engage but also to educate, is another step on our journey together.”The agreement gives NordVPN access to a Premier League platform at a time when clubs are placing greater emphasis on digital engagement around stadiums, mobile ticketing, ecommerce and other services that require supporters to connect and share personal information online.Financial terms and the length of the partnership were not disclosed, although the agreement forms part of a broader push by NordVPN into English football sponsorship.The company has also recently secured cybersecurity partnerships with clubs including Sheffield United and Luton Town, as well as the National League, using football to increase awareness of digital privacy among large and highly engaged audiences.NordVPN UK country manager Bob Brinklow said: “At NordVPN, we believe that strong partnerships are built around shared values, trust, and meaningful connections with communities.
