Nike has become the official ball supplier of the Women’s Bundesliga, 2. Frauen-Bundesliga and Women’s Supercup under an eight-year agreement that strengthens the brand’s position in German football. The partnership began on July 1 and marks Nike’s first league and cup agreement in Germany. The company will provide its Control match ball across all three competitions and supply training balls to participating clubs.Nike Football vice-president and general manager Camilo Andrade said: “Partnering with the Women’s Bundesliga Football Leagues and the Supercup allows us to connect more deeply with women who are shaping the game every day, from the best professionals to the next generation.“We’re here to learn from them, to serve them with the best innovation, and to create with the inspiration of how they play and experience football.”The long-term agreement gives Nike visibility across the top two tiers of Germany’s women’s league system, as well as the season-opening Supercup. It also provides a direct product relationship with clubs and players at a time when women’s football continues to attract increased interest from sponsors, broadcasters and consumer brands. The Nike Control ball uses OmniSculpt grooves, a four-panel construction and shorter seams designed to produce a more consistent shape and flight.Germany captain and Bayern Munich player Giulia Gwinn said: “With the Women’s Bundesliga partnership, every female athlete at the top level of the game in Germany now has the opportunity to experience how Nike is creating the future of football by driving progress, for today’s female athletes and the next generation to come.”The deal forms part of Nike’s broader expansion in German football ahead of the company becoming the German Football Association’s technical partner in January 2027.That agreement will end the DFB’s long-running relationship with adidas and place Nike at the centre of Germany’s national-team and domestic women’s football properties.Nike already works with VfL Wolfsburg and FC Viktoria Berlin, while several leading Germany internationals are contracted to the brand. The company is also involved in grassroots and community programmes through partnerships with the Berlin Football Association and street football organisation buntkicktgut.DFB GmbH & Co. KG managing director for leagues and competitions Manuel Hartmann said: “Nike brings extensive expertise in women’s football and will help support and drive the development of the Google Pixel Frauen-Bundesliga, the 2. Frauen-Bundesliga and the Google Pixel Women’s Supercup as a strong partner.”The eight-year term gives Nike and the DFB a long runway to align product supply, athlete marketing and competition promotion across Germany’s women’s football structure.
