Motorola has appointed Spain’s Vicky López, Italy’s Eleonora Goldoni and Switzerland’s Alayah Pilgrim as ambassadors for a year-long women’s football campaign leading up to the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil. The three internationals will feature in content and fan engagement activity across Europe and the Middle East, Turkey and Africa, alongside community initiatives intended to create opportunities for young women through football and technology.Motorola marketing director for Europe and the region, Daniela Idi, said: “We are delighted to work with Vicky, Eleonora and Alayah as we continue to bring fans closer to the game through football and technology. But this collaboration goes far beyond the tournament itself.”Motorola is the tournament’s official smartphone partner, and the ambassador appointments give the brand a way to build its presence in women’s football before the World Cup begins rather than concentrating its activity on the event itself. The agreement runs from summer 2026 through the tournament, with the players expected to take part in digital storytelling, fan activity and community projects during that period.Idi added: “We want to celebrate the voices, passions and communities of our ambassadors while creating more opportunities for ambitious young women. This year-long partnership strengthens our commitment to greater visibility and opportunity for women in sport and technology.”López, a Spain international, became the first winner of the women’s Kopa Trophy, while Goldoni has used her profile in Italian football to support equality initiatives and Pilgrim represents a younger generation of Swiss players.Their appointments form part of Motorola’s broader relationship with FIFA, which includes the 2026 men’s World Cup as well as the 2027 women’s tournament.Motorola is working alongside parent company Lenovo, FIFA’s official technology partner, across a partnership intended to connect devices, tournament operations, content creation and fan experiences. The campaign also gives the company a presence in the players’ own communities, where its planned initiatives will be judged by the opportunities they create beyond the visibility generated during the World Cup.By selecting ambassadors from Spain, Italy and Switzerland, Motorola can develop local activity across several markets while connecting those programmes to one of the largest international platforms in women’s football.
