Michelob ULTRA becomes Canada Soccer official beer partner ahead of 2026
Editor briefAB InBev has expanded its FIFA World Cup 2026 build-up in Canada by securing Michelob ULTRA as Canada Soccer’s official beer partner with a programme built around fan hubs and on-site access.
Canada Soccer and its commercial agency Canadian Soccer Media & Entertainment (CSME) have signed a new partnership with Michelob ULTRA Canada, giving AB InBev another major activation platform in a host market ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026.The agreement makes Michelob ULTRA Canada the Official Beer Sponsor of Canada Soccer, with Michelob ULTRA Zero also integrated into national-team programming as the tournament approaches on home soil.Natalie Lucas, senior director of above core and premium brands at Labatt Breweries of Canada, said: “As Canada prepares to welcome the world in 2026, we’re proud to support our national team and a sport that connects communities nationwide. Beer naturally goes with the football watching experience, and as a superior light beer worth playing for, Michelob Ultra is excited to celebrate both the competitive spirit of the game and the superior moments fans create together.”A centrepiece is Canada Soccer House, the federation’s fan-hub concept, where Michelob ULTRA will have prominent branding and deliver on-site engagement tied to its “Superior Access” platform.Michelob ULTRA is the title sponsor of Michelob ULTRA Canada Soccer House Halifax and will also feature at the previously announced Canada Soccer House locations in Toronto and Vancouver.Canada Soccer said the partnership will include special-edition packaging, promotions, giveaways and branded experiences aimed at increasing visibility and participation during the lead-up to 2026.Erin Crowe, Canada Soccer’s chief operating officer, said: “As the excitement around the game continues to build across the country ahead of the FIFA World Cup on home soil, partnerships like this help us create new ways for fans to connect with Canada Soccer and our National Teams. Michelob ULTRA has a strong global presence in the sport, and together we look forward to delivering memorable fan experiences that celebrate the passion of Canadian supporters and bring them closer to the game.”Halifax’s activation has defined dates and an operating partner, with the Halifax Wanderers set to run Canada Soccer House Halifax from June 17 to 29 as a dedicated venue to support Canada’s men’s national team during the tournament.Derek Martin, founder and president of Halifax Wanderers, said: “Over the past eight years Halifax has demonstrated that we are home to some of Canada’s most passionate football supporters and we are thrilled to extend our existing partnerships with Canada Soccer and Labatt to bring this experience to our vibrant downtown.
