Legends Global has agreed a long-term partnership with Vingroup to manage and operate Hanoi’s VinFast Trong Dong Stadium, with preparations under way for its scheduled opening on July 31, 2027.The agreement covers event acquisition, venue and facilities management, supplier coordination and on-site services at the 135,000-seat stadium, which is being built as part of a wider sports and entertainment development.Legends Global chief executive Dan Levy said: “VinFast - Trong Dong Stadium is an impressive project for Vietnam that will help put Hanoi at the centre of the global live events industry. "Legends Global is honoured to partner with Vingroup on this iconic project and is ready to share its experience in managing and operating events to help realise Vingroup’s aspiration and vision at the world’s largest stadium.”The partnership extends beyond the Hanoi venue, with Legends Global committing its stadium, arena and live event services exclusively to Vingroup in Vietnam.Vingroup, the Vietnamese conglomerate behind electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast, is seeking to attract international sporting events, concerts and cultural programming to the development. Its vice-chairman and chief executive Nguyen Viet Quang said: “VinFast - Trong Dong Stadium is more than just a sports venue. With its world-leading scale, contemporary architecture carrying Vietnamese symbols, an automatic retractable roof and a pitch that meets FIFA standards for events, we expect to work with Legends Global to make it a meeting point for the world’s top sports, cultural and entertainment events.”Construction began in late 2025, with Vingroup’s VinCons subsidiary delivering the stadium within the Hung Vuong International Sports Complex. The venue is planned to become the world’s largest stadium with a retractable roof, combining its substantial capacity with systems for real-time security management and crowd monitoring.Legends Global stadium specialist Paul Sergeant is already in Hanoi leading technical and pre-opening preparations, while recruitment of the operations team is under way.The company will also help develop Vingroup’s local venue management staff, drawing on a network spanning more than 450 venues and 20,000 events annually.Peter Loxton, Legends Global’s chief operating officer for Asia Pacific and the Middle East, said: “We believe that from the very first major event, the experience of fans, athletes, artists, organisers and partners will match the scale of the stadium itself. The long-term exclusive partnership with Vingroup allows Legends Global to combine global experience with local talent to develop Vietnam’s venue management capabilities.”The wider 400-hectare complex is planned to include training grounds and other sports facilities alongside hotels, shopping centres, hospitals, parks, a theatre and cultural attractions.Vingroup announced the VinFast stadium name in July, giving its automotive brand a prominent role in a development intended to attract international visitors and establish Hanoi as a larger market for major live events.
