LaLiga locks in long-term reach across South America and Europe
LaLiga has secured a series of broadcast agreements across South America and Europe, extending with ESPN and DSports while adding Sport Klub in Croatia and Slovenia as it locks in distribution for its next rights cycle.
LaLiga has extended major broadcast partnerships across South America while securing a new agreement with Sport Klub in Croatia and Slovenia, strengthening international distribution ahead of the 2026-27 season.ESPN has agreed a six-year extension covering Spanish-speaking South America until 2032, with 190 LaLiga EA Sports matches per season available across its linear channels and Disney+ Premium.Bruno Zurlo, senior vice-president and general manager of networks and sports for Latin America at The Walt Disney Company, said: “This agreement reinforces ESPN’s commitment to bringing the world’s top football competitions to fans across South America.“LaLiga has passionate followers throughout the region, and this extension allows us to keep bringing its iconic clubs, world-class players and unforgettable rivalries to ESPN, both on its linear channels and through the Disney+ Premium package.”The package represents half of the league’s 380 matches each season and includes at least one fixture from every major home-and-away rivalry, including El Clásico. ESPN retains exclusivity over its allocated matches across its platforms in the covered markets.LaLiga has also extended its relationship with DSports in South America, maintaining another established distribution partner in the region as part of its new international rights cycle. The agreements reinforce the league’s multi-partner strategy across Latin America, where Spanish football retains strong audience links through both leading clubs and the number of South American players competing in LaLiga.LaLiga president Javier Tebas said the ESPN renewal builds on an international relationship that already includes the US and several European markets. He said: “Over the next six years we will keep working together so that millions of fans in South America can experience the excitement of LaLiga every week. It’s an alliance built on trust, fan insight and a shared ambition to keep growing our competition around the world.”In Europe, Sport Klub has secured LaLiga rights in Croatia and Slovenia until 2030, with the broadcaster set to show all 380 matches per season across the two territories. The agreement gives Sport Klub exclusive access to the competition in both markets and follows LaLiga’s tender process covering a number of central and eastern European territories. The South American renewals and Sport Klub agreement provide LaLiga with longer-term certainty across several international markets as the league continues to balance traditional linear distribution with growing streaming exposure.
