Klutch makes Balogun its first direct football signing
Folarin Balogun has signed with Klutch Sports Group for off-field representation as the agency expands its global football business and the United States striker seeks to convert his FIFA World Cup profile into wider commercial opportunities.
Folarin Balogun has joined Klutch Sports Group for off-field representation, giving the Rich Paul-led agency one of the United States men’s national team’s most commercially valuable emerging players after his breakthrough FIFA World Cup campaign. The Monaco striker becomes the first footballer to sign directly with Klutch, which entered the sport in 2024 through its acquisition of European football agency ROOF. His existing on-field representation arrangements are not affected by the agreement.Klutch founder and chief executive Rich Paul said: “Folarin Balogun is one of the most talented and influential players in global football today. His relentless ambition and cultural impact represent the standard of excellence we hope to continue to bring to the sport.“We are incredibly proud to welcome him to Klutch and excited about everything we can build together.”Balogun scored three goals as the United States reached the round of 16 at their home World Cup, significantly increasing his visibility in one of football’s most commercially important growth markets. The 25-year-old also attracted attention beyond his performances after a controversial red card against Bosnia and Herzegovina was overturned, allowing him to play in the United States’ defeat by Belgium.Klutch will seek to develop Balogun’s endorsement, media and entertainment opportunities, drawing on the agency’s experience across basketball, American football and athlete-led content. Its client roster includes LeBron James and NFL quarterback Jalen Hurts, while Paul has built the business around extending athlete representation beyond contract negotiations into brand partnerships, production and investment opportunities.Balogun offers Klutch a player with relevance across several markets. He was born in New York, raised in England, developed at Arsenal and now plays in France, giving brands access to US and European audiences through a single athlete. He joined Monaco from Arsenal in 2023 after scoring 21 Ligue 1 goals during a season-long loan at Reims. Monaco said he scored 19 times during the 2025-26 campaign before his increased exposure at the World Cup.The signing also provides Klutch with a prominent figure around whom to build its football operation following the ROOF transaction. The European agency represents players and coaches across the continent, while Balogun gives the parent company a direct relationship with an athlete positioned for US-facing commercial work.Interest in US internationals is expected to remain elevated after the World Cup, particularly among sponsors looking to retain momentum from the tournament and connect with a growing domestic football audience.Balogun’s immediate sporting future could create another commercial inflection point. He remains under contract with Monaco, although his World Cup performances have strengthened his profile ahead of the European transfer window.Klutch’s mandate will focus on ensuring that increased recognition produces longer-term brand value rather than a short post-tournament uplift.
