Kansas City Current renew Bank of America partnership

Kansas City Current and Bank of America have renewed their partnership through a multi-year agreement combining sponsorship inventory with youth participation and community engagement programmes.

Kansas City Current have extended their partnership with Bank of America under a multi-year agreement designed to connect the financial services group’s football strategy with local community programmes.Bank of America will remain an official partner of the National Women’s Soccer League club after first joining their commercial portfolio in 2023. Financial terms and the duration of the renewal were not disclosed.Kansas City Current senior vice-president of commercial Missy Jenkins said: “Renewing our partnership with a world-class, globally known brand like Bank of America represents a significant milestone for our organisation.“Their steadfast support over the last three years has been extremely meaningful, and we greatly appreciate their continued belief in what we are building here in Kansas City. Our shared community pillars and commitment to youth sports will continue making this partnership resonate across the Heartland.”The agreement will support Bank of America’s Sports with Us platform, which uses partnerships and participation programmes to connect communities through sport.The Current will help deliver selected Soccer with Us clinics, offering free football experiences to young people in underserved communities. The partners will also continue supporting youth clinics, equipment donations and local outreach.Bank of America previously served as presenting partner of Current youth clinics, including an event and equipment drive at the 9th & Van Brunt Athletic Fields.Bank of America Kansas City president Matt Linski said: “Bank of America is greatly invested in the Kansas City community, and our renewed partnership with the Kansas City Current allows us to strengthen that commitment.“We look forward to continuing our work together, especially through initiatives like Soccer with Us, to empower our youth and foster a love for the sport, building on the excitement for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.”The renewal links the bank’s regional presence with its wider football sponsorship strategy. Bank of America is the official bank of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which is being staged across Canada, Mexico and the United States.Kansas City is one of the tournament’s host cities, giving the partnership additional relevance as brands seek to retain local engagement generated by the competition.Bank of America operates 33 locations across the Kansas City metropolitan area, providing the partnership with a consumer and community footprint beyond matchdays.The bank will receive an entitlement night at a Current home match during the 2026 regular season at CPKC Stadium. The partners are also developing club-related rewards for Bank of America cardholders.The agreement gives the Current a renewed blue-chip partner as they continue building commercial inventory around CPKC Stadium and their position within the expanding US women’s sports market.
