Palace secures HSBC backing for training ground as Brooks joins commercial portfolio
Crystal Palace have agreed a financing deal with HSBC that could unlock a new training ground in Beckenham, while the club have also expanded their commercial portfolio with a multi-year Brooks Running partnership covering both men’s and women’s first teams.
Crystal Palace have agreed a deal with HSBC that could pave the way for a new training ground in Beckenham as the club continue investing in long-term infrastructure. The proposed development would involve land currently used by Beckenham Cricket Club, with Palace working on plans to relocate the cricket operation before progressing with the football project.HSBC is understood to be providing financing connected to the acquisition and development strategy, giving Palace a clearer route towards creating a larger and more integrated training base. The club currently train at Copers Cope Road in Beckenham, while their academy operates from a separate site that underwent a major redevelopment after Palace secured Category One status.Bringing more of the football operation together would give Palace greater control over facilities and create additional capacity as they strengthen infrastructure alongside investment at Selhurst Park. The proposed move depends on resolving the future of Beckenham Cricket Club, which has occupied the site for decades.Palace are understood to have been working with the cricket club on alternative locations, with any development requiring planning approval and a satisfactory relocation agreement. The infrastructure push is commercially significant because modern training facilities have become increasingly important to recruitment, player development and the protection of playing assets across the Premier League.Palace have already invested substantially in their academy and continue to pursue the redevelopment of Selhurst Park, including a new Main Stand intended to increase capacity and hospitality revenues.A new training ground would add another major project to that programme and provide infrastructure built specifically around the requirements of an established Premier League operation. The HSBC arrangement also shows how Palace are using external financing to support capital projects rather than relying solely on shareholder funding.Palace have separately strengthened their commercial portfolio by signing Brooks Running as Official Footwear Partner under a new multi-year agreement covering both the men’s and women’s first teams.Brooks will also become front-of-training-wear partner, with its logo appearing on training, travel, walkout and warm-up apparel. The brand will receive visibility across Selhurst Park, including LED inventory, stadium screens and media backdrops, while the two organisations will collaborate on player and club content.Brooks will also support the Palace Run Club and sponsor Palace for Life’s Marathon March, extending the partnership into community activation. The agreement adds another internationally recognised brand to Palace’s expanding sponsorship portfolio as the club simultaneously invests in the physical infrastructure intended to underpin its next phase of growth.
