CONMEBOL has signed new Brazilian media rights agreements with Globo and Paramount+ for Package C of the Libertadores, bringing the competition back to SporTV from 2027 and extending its relationship with the streaming platform. The agreements run through 2030 and provide each partner with 41 matches per season, including the final, with SporTV’s coverage complementing Globo’s existing rights across TV Globo and GE TV.CONMEBOL commercial director Juan Emilio Roa said: “We are very pleased to welcome Paramount+ and SporTV back to our group of broadcast partners in Brazil. The renewal and return of longstanding partners demonstrate the value of the CONMEBOL Libertadores to the Brazilian market and CONMEBOL’s continued focus on building lasting and mutually beneficial relationships with all its partners.“We look forward to another successful cycle with Paramount+ and to further expanding our existing relationship with Globo.”Announced on October 9, the agreements were negotiated with support and advice from IMG, CONMEBOL’s commercial partner, and broaden the distribution of its leading club competition across Brazilian television and subscription streaming. The package includes selected preliminary-round fixtures, 24 group-stage matches, two round-of-16 games, one quarter-final and a shared semi-final, with the final shared across all broadcast partners. The SporTV agreement adds pay-TV coverage to Globo’s existing national distribution through TV Globo and GE TV, while Globo will also broadcast the Recopa Sudamericana. The wider package includes the Women’s Libertadores, Under-20 Libertadores, men’s and women’s futsal competitions, the Beach Soccer Libertadores and eLibertadores, giving partners content beyond the principal men’s tournament.Paramount+ senior vice-president of content for Latin America Augusto Rovegno commented: “We are very pleased to renew our partnership with the CONMEBOL Libertadores, bringing one of the world’s most exciting football competitions to Paramount+ fans in Brazil.“Live sport is a fundamental pillar of our content strategy, and this agreement, which includes the final in the new cycle, reaffirms our commitment to premium competitions that add value and inspire our subscribers’ passion.”The renewal retains South American club football within Paramount+’s Brazilian offering, with access to the final adding a significant event to its coverage in the new rights cycle.Globo director of sports rights Fernando Manuel Pinto added: “It is with great satisfaction that we further strengthen our partnership with CONMEBOL, an organisation that has demonstrated its investment in its tournaments and strengthened them year after year.“This new agreement builds on the one we signed with the organisation last year, bringing more matches, content and opportunities. I thank CONMEBOL for its trust in Globo as the platform that will continue bringing the most important and decisive CONMEBOL Libertadores matches to hundreds of millions of Brazilian fans, now with even broader and improved coverage.”The agreements extend CONMEBOL’s relationships with established broadcasters while using complementary television and digital services to widen access in one of its key media markets.
