Coca-Cola signs Cole Palmer as football brand ambassador
Coca-Cola has signed Chelsea and England player Cole Palmer as a multi-year football brand ambassador, tying the deal to Premier League activations and FIFA World Cup 2026 campaigns.
Coca-Cola has appointed Cole Palmer as its latest football brand ambassador in a multi-year partnership that will span Coca-Cola and Powerade activations. The agreement strengthens Coca-Cola’s commercial footprint in football ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026 and builds on its UK marketing platform as the Official Soft Drink Partner of the Premier League.Palmer said: “It’s class to be working with Coca-Cola, it’s an iconic brand so it feels a bit surreal. There’s a big summer coming for Coke and Powerade and plenty going on, so I’m looking forward to getting stuck in and seeing what we can do together.”Coca-Cola said Palmer will be used across campaigns designed to bring fans “closer to the action”, with activity planned around Premier League fandom and the build-up to the 2026 World Cup.The first execution includes a short film linked to the Premier League 500ml Superfan Can, built around Palmer’s post-match takeaway order of salt and pepper chicken with rice, chips and curry sauce. The film leans into his “ice cold” celebration, positioning Palmer as a modern face for football culture and a route to younger audiences that engage through social-first moments as much as matchday rituals.Javier Meza, chief marketing officer at Coca-Cola Europe, said: “Cole’s one of the most exciting young players in the game right now, but it’s how he connects off the pitch that really stands out. He gets how fans think and feel, especially the next generation, which makes him a natural fit for us.”The deal also creates cross-brand opportunity for Powerade, which has increasingly targeted performance and hydration narratives around elite sport while Coca-Cola anchors mass reach and cultural relevance.Commercially, the signing gives Coca-Cola a current, highly visible talent asset to bridge domestic league sponsorship rights with World Cup marketing, helping maintain continuity in football messaging across a crowded summer calendar. The next phase is expected to centre on further on-pack activity, retail tie-ins and event-led fan engagement as Coca-Cola scales the campaign across the Premier League and into World Cup 2026 promotional windows.
