Chelsea Women launch fertility fund in landmark health partnership

Chelsea FC Women have named Fertility Plus as their official fertility partner in a deal that will give players access to dedicated reproductive health support while expanding education for supporters.

brief

Chelsea FC Women have partnered with fertility clinic Fertility Plus, creating a dedicated support fund for players and making reproductive health a new focus within the club’s off-field welfare programme. The fund will be available to every Chelsea Women player and will cover tailored fertility support including assessments, treatments, counselling and educational workshops.Giulia Mazzia, Commercial Director of Chelsea FC Women, said: “At Chelsea FC Women we are never done pushing for progress for our players and our community. This first-of-its-kind partnership with Fertility Plus will open up the conversation about fertility, help to raise awareness for our incredible fanbase and beyond, and give practical support to our players off the field as well as on it.”The agreement positions Fertility Plus as Chelsea Women’s official fertility partner and extends the relationship beyond player services, with both organisations planning educational activity aimed at improving understanding of reproductive health.Fertility Plus will provide evidence-based resources, educational content and information designed to help players and supporters make more informed decisions around fertility. The initiative also responds to wider gaps in reproductive health knowledge. Research highlighted by the partners found that 41% of respondents trying to conceive did not know when their fertile window was.Dr Amit Shah and Dr Anil Gudi, Co-Founders of Fertility Plus, said: “Elite sport asks a lot of women during the very years when fertility matters most, yet it’s a conversation the game has rarely had. Partnering with Chelsea FC Women allows us to help change that by giving players, staff and supporters access to trusted fertility expertise and compassionate, consultant-led care.“We’re proud to work alongside a club that’s setting a new standard for supporting women’s health, both on and off the pitch.”The partnership adds fertility care to a growing area of commercial and performance investment around women athletes, where clubs and partners are increasingly developing services specific to female health rather than adapting programmes designed around men’s sport.Chelsea Women will use the partnership both as a player welfare initiative and as a platform for broader supporter education, giving Fertility Plus access to the club’s audience while embedding its services directly within the team’s support structure.
