brief

Chelsea have appointed Sokin as a Principal Partner and Official Business Payments and FX Partner, combining sleeve sponsorship across their teams with financial services supporting the club’s international operations. The multi-year agreement places Sokin branding on the sleeves of the men’s, women’s and academy home, away and third kits from the 2026/27 season.Chelsea president Jason Gannon said: “At Chelsea, we seek to partner with organisations that share our ambition and innovative mindset.“Sokin’s expertise in business payments, and their focus on making both simpler for the businesses they serve, makes them a natural fit for the Club. We are pleased to welcome Sokin to the Chelsea family and look forward to working together in the years ahead.”The partnership gives Sokin a prominent advertising position across Chelsea’s football programmes while introducing an operational role in how the club sends, receives and manages money across currencies. Its platform brings together business payments, multi-currency accounts, foreign exchange, checkout and treasury services, offering finance teams a single system for activities otherwise spread across providers.Sokin chief executive and founder Vroon Modgill said: “Chelsea plays on the biggest stage in world football, and its business runs in dozens of currencies. Sokin was built for that with regulated, multi-currency payments and foreign exchange for organisations that operate internationally.“We’re proud to be the platform behind the business payments and FX of one of the most iconic teams in football. Sokin’s platform serves businesses in more than 170 countries.“We’re thrilled to be partners for the season ahead. An organisation as sophisticated as Chelsea doesn’t leave its finances to chance.”The sleeve branding is scheduled to appear for the first time when Chelsea’s men host Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge on October 24.Including the women’s and academy teams extends the sponsorship beyond the men’s first team, giving Sokin exposure across multiple competitions and supporter audiences. The agreement also connects that visibility with a business-to-business proposition, using the club relationship to demonstrate services aimed at organisations operating internationally.Founded in 2019, Sokin enables businesses to transact, convert and hold money in more than 70 currencies across over 170 countries. The company has raised more than US$100m from investors including Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital and Prysm Capital, supporting the development of its payments infrastructure.Chelsea’s announcement identifies international partners, competitions and supporters as part of the context for the club’s multi-currency requirements, although it does not specify individual payment flows or implementation milestones. The partnership’s initial public rollout will centre on the Tottenham fixture, with Sokin’s payments and foreign exchange remit supporting the wider commercial relationship over the multi-year term.
