CAF has unveiled a new identity and trophy for its Futsal Africa Cup of Nations while confirming South Africa as host of the 2026 African Super Cup, advancing efforts to strengthen the presentation and commercial profile of its competition portfolio.
CAF has unveiled a new visual identity and trophy for the TotalEnergies CAF Futsal Africa Cup of Nations while confirming that the 2026 African Super Cup will be staged in South Africa.The twin announcements underline CAF’s wider effort to strengthen the positioning of its competitions, with a refreshed brand platform for futsal alongside a high-profile club fixture at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria.The new Futsal Africa Cup of Nations identity has been designed around the speed, movement and intensity of the sport, while CAF said the rebrand is intended to reflect the competition’s growth and ambition.A redesigned trophy has also been introduced, featuring five golden arches representing the five players on court for each team.The trophy includes a map of Africa at its centre, with the competition name engraved at the base and previous winners recognised on the reverse.The refreshed assets were unveiled ahead of the draw for the 2026 tournament, which Morocco will stage from October 12 to 21.Algeria, Angola, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Mozambique, Tanzania and Zambia have qualified for the eight-team competition.CAF is seeking to increase the visibility of futsal within its wider portfolio, with the new identity giving the competition a more distinct commercial and broadcast proposition alongside its established football tournaments.The governing body has separately confirmed that the 2026 African Super Cup will take place at Loftus Versfeld on November 8.CAF Champions League winners Mamelodi Sundowns will face CAF Confederation Cup champions USM Alger in the single-match fixture.Hosting the game in Pretoria gives Sundowns home-market exposure for one of CAF’s leading club events while placing another continental fixture in a major South African stadium.Sundowns secured their second CAF Champions League title by defeating FAR Rabat 2-1 on aggregate, while USM Alger beat Zamalek on penalties to win the Confederation Cup.Both clubs have previously won the Super Cup, with Sundowns taking the title in 2017 and USM Alger in 2023.CAF has also scheduled the preliminary rounds of the next Champions League and Confederation Cup campaigns for September, extending a busy calendar of club and national-team competitions as the organisation continues to develop the branding and staging of its properties.
