Benfica hands campus naming rights to adidas in six-year renewal
Benfica have extended their long-running adidas partnership until 2033 and added naming rights to the club’s training and development centre, deepening one of Portuguese football’s longest commercial relationships.
Benfica have renewed their partnership with adidas for another six years until 2033, with the expanded agreement also granting the sportswear company naming rights to the club’s training and development centre. The facility will now be known as the adidas Benfica Campus, adding a new commercial asset to a relationship that has run continuously since the 1997-98 season. Financial terms were not disclosed.Benfica president Rui Costa said: “The renewal of this partnership represents the continuation of a strong relationship, built on shared values, trust, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.“The naming rights for the adidas Benfica Campus further strengthen this connection and recognise the strategic importance of a space that is fundamental to the Club’s present and future.”The agreement extends beyond traditional kit supply by attaching adidas directly to Benfica’s player-development infrastructure, one of the club’s most strategically important assets. The Benfica Campus has become central to the club’s academy model and talent-development strategy, making the naming deal a more integrated commercial proposition than conventional shirt or training wear inventory.adidas general manager of football Sam Handy said: “Sport Lisboa e Benfica is one of football’s great institutions, with a rich history, a unique identity, and some of the sport’s most passionate fans.“The adidas Benfica Campus represents the Club’s future – a place where talent is developed, ambitions are realised, and the next chapter in Benfica’s history begins to unfold.”The two organisations have worked together across several periods, including from 1983-84 to 1989-90 and continuously since 1997-98.The renewal also gives adidas long-term continuity around Benfica’s official kits at a time when major European clubs are increasingly seeking greater value from technical partnerships through retail, lifestyle products and broader brand integrations.adidas Iberia general manager Adolfo Haendler said: “Extending this partnership through 2033 is much more than simply renewing an agreement: it reaffirms the bond between two brands that experience football with the same passion and intensity.”The latest deal coincides with the 20th anniversary of the Benfica Campus, which has already influenced the design of the club’s 2026-27 home and third kits.By adding campus naming rights to a six-year technical renewal, Benfica have increased the commercial depth of the partnership while giving adidas a permanent association with one of the club’s most valuable development assets.
