brief

Inter have named BBVA as official sleeve partner across their men’s first team, women’s side, Under-23s, Under-20s and legends team in a wide-ranging agreement covering several levels of the club. The Spanish banking group will also become front-of-shirt partner for Inter’s youth academy teams from Under-18 level downwards across the men’s and women’s programmes.BBVA Italy head of digital banking Walter Rizzi said: “This partnership reflects BBVA’s long-term commitment to the Italian market. At BBVA, we believe innovation is not only about developing technology, but also about creating better experiences and building stronger relationships with people.“Together with Inter, we want to combine the reach of one of the world’s most iconic football clubs with BBVA’s digital capabilities to deliver meaningful experiences, exclusive benefits and bring our brand even closer to millions of people who share our values of innovation, trust and excellence.”The structure gives BBVA visibility across senior football, women’s sport, player development and heritage content rather than concentrating its investment on one team.Sleeve rights provide recurring exposure across domestic and international matches, while the academy agreement connects the bank with younger players, families and community audiences.Inter and BBVA will also develop digital content, supporter experiences and other initiatives intended to strengthen engagement beyond shirt branding.Inter chief revenue officer Giorgio Ricci said: “Our ambition is to build collaborations that create real value not only for brands, but also for people. In BBVA, we have found much more than a partner; we found a company that shares our belief that technology and innovation should make experiences better and more accessible.“Together, we want to create new ways of bringing football closer to people and delivering the benefits that two innovative brands can offer.”BBVA’s investment supports its wider expansion in Italy, where the digital bank is seeking to build customer awareness and establish longer-term relationships in a competitive retail market.Inter gain a major financial-services partner capable of activating across their international supporter base and increasingly diversified team structure. The agreement also reflects the growing commercial value of club-wide sponsorship packages, with brands seeking rights across women’s football, academies and digital platforms alongside the men’s first team.BBVA’s branding will now become one of the most visible common elements across Inter’s senior and development sides.
