Bayern give LONGi global stage for solar expansion
Bayern Munich have signed LONGi as a global partner until 2028, giving the Chinese solar technology company a platform across Europe, China and North America while opening discussions over renewable energy installations at the club’s facilities.
Bayern Munich have agreed an international partnership with LONGi until summer 2028, adding one of the world’s largest solar technology companies to their commercial portfolio as the club expand relationships with Asian businesses.The agreement covers activations across China, Europe and North America, with LONGi making its first appearance on Bayern’s LED perimeter boards during their pre-season fixture against Aston Villa in Hong Kong.Bayern board member for marketing and sales Rouven Kasper said: “FC Bayern stands for top-level performance on the pitch and for responsibility beyond it. With LONGi, we share the highest standards and a commitment to a more sustainable future.“We look forward to working together with this renowned international industry leader to bring topics such as renewable energies even more into focus.”The partners will use the “POWER ON, GAME ON” campaign across content, supporter engagement and marketing activity, combining Bayern’s global audience with LONGi’s commercial push across residential, corporate and large-scale solar markets.LONGi chairman and general manager Zhong Baoshen said: “FC Bayern and LONGi come from different worlds, but we are driven by the same instinct: keep improving, keep challenging ourselves, and never treat one achievement as the end.“Football connects millions of people, and energy touches every one of them.”The launch took place during Bayern’s Audi Summer Tour in Hong Kong and coincided with the global introduction of LONGi’s EcoLife Plug & Play Series, allowing the company to combine sponsorship activation with the promotion of its latest residential solar products.LONGi and Bayern will also explore potential uses of the company’s technology within the club’s sustainability programme, including possible applications across training facilities and stadium infrastructure.The agreement represents LONGi’s second major European sports partnership of 2026 following its involvement with the BMW Berlin Marathon, strengthening its visibility in a region central to the renewable energy transition.Financial terms were not disclosed, with further details covering supporter campaigns and potential infrastructure projects expected during the partnership.
