FC Barcelona and Spotify will put Olivia Rodrigo’s “OR” logo on the club’s shirt for the May 10 Clásico, extending their artist takeover series into a full-week commercial activation spanning matchday, merchandise and a fan event in the city.
FC Barcelona will wear Olivia Rodrigo’s “OR” logo on their shirt for the May 10 men’s Clásico against Real Madrid, as Spotify continues its artist-led front-of-shirt takeover strategy tied to its partnership with the club.The logo will debut with Barça’s women’s team on May 6 in their Liga F match against Levante, before appearing on the men’s kit at the Spotify Camp Nou.The activation centres on a private Olivia Rodrigo performance in Barcelona on May 8, with invitations issued by Spotify to selected fans based on listening activity on the platform.Olivia Rodrigo said: “Seeing OR on a Barcelona jersey for El Clásico, I don’t even know how to process that. It’s been so fun seeing the jersey come to life and creating a full collection with Spotify and Barca.“On top of that, getting to perform for the fans who’ve been listening since day one, in a city like Barcelona, is going to be so special. I cannot wait to see them.”Spotify’s Marc Hazan, senior vice president of marketing and partnerships, positioned the campaign as a crossover play between two high-intensity fan communities, with the concert timed to land on the eve of the fixture.The club and Spotify are also launching limited-run retail tied to the drop, with two match-quality shirt editions capped at 1,899 units and 22 units respectively, alongside an additional run of 11 shirts signed by Rodrigo.The 22-shirt edition is set to be signed by the starting players from both the men’s Clásico and the women’s Levante fixture, aligning the release with both teams’ match calendars.A wider lifestyle capsule will be sold via Barça retail channels, including clothing and accessories, while Spotify will publish a special edition of the club’s matchday playlist curated by Rodrigo.Rodrigo is scheduled to release her third studio album on June 12, giving Spotify and Barça an additional launch moment to attach to the campaign beyond the matchweek itself.
